Mazars CEE Tax Guide 2023

Mazars Hungary has published its eleventh regional tax guide, which includes snapshots and comparative charts of the tax systems of 25 CEE countries for 2023.

This guide, which has grown from 15 countries in 2013 to 25 countries in 2023, addresses a wide range of tax topics, with a focus on corporate profit taxation, transfer pricing, employment and sales taxes.

The 2023 Guide provides a detailed analysis of tax systems in a number of countries, including Central and Southeastern Europe, Germany, Austria, Moldova, Ukraine, the Baltic States, and, for the first time, Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

Key findings:

The trend of declining public taxes on employment appears to be declining
The global minimum tax must be included in national legislation by the end of the year
The United States has terminated its tax treaty with Hungary.
